Audrey Caldwell: Memorable Women’s Travel
Audrey is a content creator, freelance writer and communications consultant who, after raising two sons and a handful of pets, is now happily spending the second half of her life indulging her passions for travel and writing through the Memorable Women’s Travel blog. Her love of travel began with decades of family road trips along the East Coast. Driving along highways and back country roads opened her eyes to the beauty and variety of towns and people in the United States.
As a Spanish major in college, she studied for a semester in Madrid as a part of a total cultural immersion program. She fully embraced living in a new culture, traveling to a dozen cities in Spain and conversing in the local language. Before leaving, she had the opportunity to visit Portugal, France, Italy, and Ireland. Since then, she’s visited most of the U.S. on business or vacation, and a number of islands on a cruise in the Mediterranean. These experiences have shaped her wanderlust for life.
She created her blog after talking with a number of women about travel over the last few years. She’s discovered that they seem to fall into three categories: married with a spouse who loves travel, married to a spouse who doesn’t care for travel, or single (by choice, widowed, or divorced) with an interest in travel. For the last two of these categories, a women without a partner who wants to travel but doesn’t know where to begin or feels uneasy about traveling by herself.
If you identify with either of the last two scenarios, Audrey hopes to inspire you to travel more. By sharing tales of her trips, as well as travel tips and resources she’s discovered, she’d like to make your journey easier. Her blog, Memorable Women’s Travel seeks to empower women over 50 to venture out and see the world.
Whether by yourself, with a family member or friends, travel can change your life and create lasting memories. You only live once. What are you waiting for? Join her on her journey!
